Standing Shoulder to Shoulder Leaves Little Room

We think we have to figure God out first and then ask Him into our lives.

Or we think we have to behave like company is coming over and so we do a marathon rage cleaning of the entire house an hour before they are to arrive.

“Then I will purify the lips of the peoples,
that all of them may call on the name of the Lord
and serve him shoulder to shoulder.”

But have you noticed, in Gods timing, sometimes we never even recognize the fact that He had stood with us; is standing with us; and has promised on more than one occasion to stand with us till the very end?

Ever notice that?

We think we have to “make room for God”; have everything in order; having everything swept out and up to make it and ourselves acceptable somehow.

If we are busy cleaning “the cup” how can we be standing shoulder to shoulder with Christ shoveling the neighbor ladies driveway or taking her trash out for her.

Stop and think about that one… I know I am.

The Emerging Man… encouraging you to take hold of the hand of Christ with grit!

Shoulder to Shoulder doing His work

    Ephesians 2:8-10

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Yes, helping our neighbors, talking with those who have no hope, bringing a meal, giving Godly counsel, fixing someone’s car…Dave has done these good works prepared by God ahead of time so we know he walks with God.
