Someone else has to see it for what it is…

If you are too close to it.

Exodus 34:29-35

Moses doesn’t see the “radiance” or “transformation”… but Aaron and the people did, and at first were afraid of him until he spoke to them… then he would put a veil over his face “after” he realized what was happening.

Jim Curtis, my Pastor, recently said my battle smoke reminds him of the smoke descending on the mountain.

The smoke being the evidence of Gods presence.

And the Greek word for transform means “metamorphosis”.

3339 metamorphóō (from 3326 /metá, “change after being with” and 3445 /morphóō, “changing form in keeping with inner reality”) – properly, transformed after being withtransfigured.

[3339 (metamorphóō) is the root of the English terms “metamorphosis” and “metamorphize.”]

“Transformed after being with”

You can’t be in the presence of God and not be changed.

I think that’s an impossibility.

The more I work on my new project The Emerging Man Podcast the more I’m getting dialed into what I believe a man actually is.

Jim told me he saw this in me when we first met 20 years ago.

I couldn’t see it then… and it’s just now coming into focus for me… as I make my way through the smoke.

Be brave today, ask around a little bit, and try to see how others see you… then examine how you see yourself.

I’m nowhere near the picture I have of myself… mentally… and I sure ain’t no butterfly!

But because of being in HIS presence… I am being transformed.

The Emerging Man, writing to…

“Encourage you to grab hold of the hand of Christ… with grit!”
