The Principal Tactic of WAR is to Confuse the Enemy

In ‘The Art of War’ Master Sun Tzu states… “A military operation involves deception.”

“Draw them in with the prospect of gain, take them by confusion.”

“Use anger to throw them into disarray.”

“Cause division among them.”

From the Online Etymology Dictionary we learn WAR is from…

“German verwirren “to confuse, perplex”), said in Watkins to be from PIE *wers-(1) “to confuse, mix up,” suggesting the original sense was,

“To bring into confusion.””

And in the Book of Romans Ch 7 V22-23 the apostle Paul explains…

“22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;

23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, WAGING WAR against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.”

And what do our “members”, and evil in general, use to “lure us”… a deception; an enticement; brought up and out of our very own hearts… because remember, “The easiest person you can fool is… yourself.”

It is a spiritual war for our ability to focus on God.

And so we experience “CONFUSION”.

We can’t focus on him if we are anxiety ridden by our traumatic past… even though it’s all true.

We can’t focus on Him if we constantly give in to our every personal whim to try and make life oh so comfortable.

And we definitely cannot focus on Him if we do not get to know Him on a very personal level because we will never get to a point where we can trust Him enough to not let us down… like every one else has in our lives.

We couldn’t live with that, we couldn’t bear that.

So we don’t focus on Him “WHOLEHEARTEDLY” we can’t… because at some particular level we have not accepted the “peace” that He offers us for our past & current lives.

Which if we do accept it… allows us to move on from those hurts.
